The Health and Care Act 2022 has formalised the role of Integrated Care Systems (ICSs), ushering in a new era of collaboration across health and social care. ICSs are partnerships between NHS organisations, local authorities, voluntary services, and independent care providers, designed to deliver joined-up care that meets the needs of local populations.

For providers, this shift is more than structural—it’s strategic. It calls for a rethinking of governance, accountability, and service delivery. At Ziproh Training, we help care organisations understand their place within this evolving framework and equip them to thrive in it.

🤝 What ICSs Mean for Your Organisation

ICSs are built on the principle of shared responsibility. Providers are expected to work across boundaries to improve outcomes, reduce inequalities, and make better use of resources. This means:

Collaborating across sectors to design care pathways that are seamless and person-centred

Contributing to shared outcomes such as population health, workforce sustainability, and digital integration

Participating in joint decision-making through place-based partnerships and provider collaboratives

For many care services, this represents a cultural shift—from operating independently to becoming part of a wider ecosystem of care.
